KEVIN PHILLIPS
Kevin Phillips brings the firm’s healthcare clients his experience as a U.S. Senate deputy campaign manager and press secretary, his years of political work in Washington DC and in campaigns across the country, and years of advising healthcare providers who find themselves in the midst of their own competitive campaigns.
As a key member of the teams that completed the first for-profit conversion in the state of Connecticut, that repackaged a neglected not-for-profit community hospital into a California city's "Business of the Year", and that continually creates smooth transitions in new and existing markets for a billion dollar healthcare provider, Phillips has managed the full spectrum of healthcare public affairs on behalf of our clients.
His career began in Washington, D.C., as a communications/press aide in national politics and spent more than twelve years working with former Tennessee Governor Lamar Alexander - as his personal aide at the U.S. Department of Education, as spokesman for his national grassroots political organization, as deputy press secretary for his 1996 presidential bid and in 2002 as communications director and deputy campaign manager for his successful United States Senate race. Phillips continues to dabble in political press relations at all levels, from local candidate races to state and national party conventions.
He received his B.A. in English from James Madison University in Harrisonburg, Virginia and his M.B.A. from Auburn University.
